Nayarit State is one of the most beautiful states in Mexico, with its almost deserted coast, large historical attractions and of its ancient legends.

Nayarit is located in the northwest region of Mexico and borders to the north with the State of Durango and the State of Sinaloa, to the east and south with the State of Jalisco and to the west with the Pacific Ocean. The state also includes the archipelago of the Mary Islands, the Mairetas and Isla Isabel. It has a population of approximately one million inhabitants.

Nayarit has an excellent climate, abundant rains in the summer and very fertile soils that produce a great variety of flowers and unequaled flavorfull fruits.

Tepic is the capital of the state and is located 225 km from Guadalajara to the east and Puerto Vallarta 140 km to the south.

In Tepic you can visit many interesting and historical sites.

The Cathedral of the Purisima Concepcion de Maria, built in the 18th century.

The Temple of the Cruz de Zacate, built in the 16th century.

The Amado Nervo Museum, where this poet was born in 1870.

The Regional Museum of Anthropology and history, which exibits interesting collections of archaeology, Cora and Huichol ethnography and history, which exibits interesting collections of archaeology, and colonial paintings.
